Welcome to GetConnected!

GetConnected is a club of people attracted to innovative ideas that connect them by a range of key areas within everyday life. Their purpose is to connect with each other by interests, business, health, their knowledge and experience and more. New online communities are subsequently created and there is the ability to bring together existing real-life local communities. GetConnected is not a social network in itself. However, it utilises existing social networks to help connect people in the areas that they choose.

GetConnected focuses on the positive things that many people have an interest in. It is highly unlikely that someone would be interested in every subject that we have included so far. So many more subjects will be added as we go. The order of new subjects is determined by the feedback we receive from our members and the knowledge, expertise and advice that we can collate and develop into a website or application in order to take a good idea forward.

Houses
Utilises our 'On the Map' feature to enable members to find a property for sale or rent. Members can also list their own properties - a great opportunity to save considerable money on estate agent fees.

Meeting People
The BBM PIN Directory has been successfully launched as a Facebook Application connecting Blackberry users on a social basis. This key area will be expanded as the main means of connecting individuals, their interests and businesses across multiple platforms including web, mobile and Facebook. A similar application to connect football supporters is currently under construction.

Healthy Living
WhyTheWeight is a Facebook application aimed at anyone that has put on weight through lifestyle change and is looking to lose it by means of a healthier diet, increased exercise and connecting with others with similar aims. The app in itself is not a difinitive answer but more of a means of motivating, sharing best practise and recording progress.

Buying & Selling
Sellit! A safe environment for members to buy and sell their used items.

Reviews
Members can add their feedback on new items and services that they have recently purchased to assist others in making their choices. Expected to be launched for the web, Facebook and mobile platforms.

Mobile Phones
WheresMyMobile is an innovative website designed to connect lost mobile phones with their owners. Hundreds of thousands of mobile phones are lost in public places and handed in each year but never reunited with their owners. Our members can register their mobiles phones and have a better chance to retrieve them if lost.

SellMyMobiles is a web-based feature enabling members to sell their old mobile phones. Listings can be created very quickly - photos do not even have to be uploaded as we provide access to a vast directory of mobile makes and models to display with each listing. Listings can be published to friends and family via their Facebook wall for free. Optionally, listings can also be added to be displayed publically at the site for a nominal fee that includes a certificate that authenticates the mobile against having been lost or stolen - peace of mind to the buyer and a means of gaining a higher price through greater trust for the seller.

Football
england-supporters.com with more than 14 years behind it is the longest-running website in the GetConnected collection and incorporates supporters of the 92 English league clubs as well of those of the England national football team. A full site revamp is underway in preparation for Euro 2012, meaning more interactive features - helping us to connect more fans than ever before.

In the News
NewspaperTalk is our news feature across web, mobile and Facebook platforms. Enables members to keep up to date with the latest headlines from some of the top UK newspapers and magazines. Stories can be shared on Facebook and also saved for reading later. Members will also have the opportunity to add their own local news stories by means of our 'On the Map' feature very soon.
